This ergonomic knit hook features a comfort grip for ease of use. The hook is made of stainless steel with a rubber/plastic handle. Use with any loom, sock loom, round loom or long loom.
Easy comfort grip
Metal hook with large plastic handle
No stress on your wrists
The tip is sharp and pointed which poked through the plastic package, however this is what makes it a great hook for loom knitting. For yarn that splits or separates it makes it easier for the tip to go into the groove of the loom peg and slide under the yarn keeping the yarn whole rather than splitting into smaller threads. One thing to be careful of is that because it's so pointed you'll need to watch that you don't accidentally split your yarn by putting the tip too close to the yarn before taking it off the peg, make sure you always slide it under the yarn. It also helps if you insert the tip under the thread then turn slightly before pulling the yarn over the loom peg, this helps to keep the pointy tip from catching onto your other yarn on the peg or from accidentally sliding off the hook. The handle is comfortable and helps greatly if you have arthritis, which I have along with carpel tunnel, so it lets me work on my projects longer due to my hands not hurting as much because the handle is comfortable and wide. I tend to hold the hook like a pencil but you can grip the handle with your whole hand if you want or need to knit like this since the length is also longer than the hooks that come with the loom kits. I also tend to be a tight knitter on the looms so I also like the fact that the metal part of the hook is nice and sturdy and doesn't slide, twist, or have the metal end come through the handle, which has happened with the loom hook I received in a Knifty Knitter kit.If you're worried about the pointy tip from a safety standpoint you can put a cork at the end of it or keep it in the plastic package it comes in when you're not using it. The cardboard back of the plastic package slides out so the hook can easily be put back into the package.I've used the hook with Looms from Knifty Knitter, Authentic Knitting Board, and Boye. The hook slides easily into the grooves of the pegs on all those brands. I've used the KB Ergonomic hook for a month or two now and have done a lot of socks, hats, scarves, etc with it and have no complaints about it.I love this tool so much that I have bought 3 of them. My hands and fingers don't hurt like it does with the regular size tools. I only use these, they are the best. God bless.Love this hook for my loom knitting. Makes it so much easier to hold when knitting than those SKINNY hooksthat come with the looms. Since I got OLD my hands got weaker and I have a hard time holding and gripping anything. No I can enjoy my knitting again. I do recommend...I really love this style of hook. It's is great for arthritic hands. I have made a bit of an adjustment to it, though. It looks much better. The yarn is much easier to grabst. All I did was take a pair of needle nose pliers and made a slight bend downward at the end of the hook. Made it even easier to grabst the yarn. I have three of these hooks. On l y one is the way I purchased it. Why.... Because the metal hook part of it is loose in the handle. I rarely use it due to this. It spins when I try to use it. I am going to stiffen it up with a touch of epoxy where it enters the handle. It won't be pretty, but it will be useable. The photo has the original one on the left and the one I adjusted on the right. The sinful bend is great. That is the only reason I didn't give all 5 stars across the board.I received this in the mail very soon after ordering it. It took me a few days to finally open it, but I have and here's my thoughts:It's chunky! I'm definitely not used to such a fat hook, this is probably double what came in my looms. After some close examination, I've found it to be a really nice hook. It doesn't bend and it's nice and grippy. I plan on updating when I've had a chance to use it some!Update: I've had this product for a while now, and knitted half an afghan with it so far. My final thoughts are: it's a bit of a learning curve to use this, especially if you've only used the smaller hooks (like the ones that come with looms). However, after knitting with this, learning how to comfortably use it, I will say that I WILL NEVER use a small hook again. EVER!!! This chunky one is the absolute way to go! My fingers no longer hurt, or have that weird dip in them where I use it so much. And, because I don't have to turn my entire wrist so much, my joints feel so much better. I originally gave this product 4 stars, but I'm changing that to 5. This is awesome! There’s nothing I dislike about it. It’s my favorite one, my go to every time.I really like this hook. The one I was using was so flimsy that I had to keep bending it back into shape. At one point I was knitting with a sideways hook. I looked for a sturdier hook, but was having a difficult time. I happened upon this one, and decided to go for it. I have not been disappointed. The grip is nice and thick, and well suited for my larger hands. The hook NEVER bends; it is very sturdy and pulls the yard like it is supposed to, without me having to worry if I am going to bend it. The end comes to a sharp point which allows you to get under the yarn very well. I really like using this hook, it does not hurt my hands like the other ones did and it is very easy to use once you get used to the longer hook. Now if I could just find more time to perfect my loom knitting skills, I would be on top; but at least I don't have to worry about finding a hook that works really well any more because this one is excellentI have arthritis and this hook makes my loom knitting so much easier.Purchased as a gift for someone keen on loom knitting but is having issues with the slimmer-handled hooks normally provided due to the effects of arthritis in the wrists and fingers. The handle is super chunky, is multi-profiled and shaped for a very comfortable grip. The only possible downside is the rather short hook-end which may allow stitches to slip off during transfer. It has yet to see extensive use but no problems have yet arisen.Absolutely fantastic to use so comfortable and easy to use while loom knitting. The thickness is great while your holding it especially if you find holding things difficult. I recommend this tool. Delivery was quick thankyouAmazing. Much better than the hard plastic hooks but thicker.Would recommend for comfort but not if you have small hands.I would buy againThis is the best hook I have used, especially found it good if you suffer with arthritis in you hands ( which I do) I found other hooks to thin this being a thicker hook stopped my hand going into a spasm. Have ordered a spare as I would be lost without this KB hook. Definitely recommend it.My original hook broke. This is a great purchase even better than the original. It is well made and comfortable to work with
