First of all, beware that this book is the same book as Diva's Don't Knit!!! I didn't know this, and bought both! Also, amazon has been advertising them together, so don't make my same mistake. That said, this is a fun read! For those, like me, who like "Knit Lit", this is worth the price! A nice, but different, slant on a yarn shop owner, her life, and the lives of those with whom she interacts in her shop and in the town. There is some British slang that might throw you for a bit of a loop, but if you watch BBC America stuff, you will be able to guess at most of it. Myself, I have a British slang dictionary at the ready! The story revolves around Jo, a recent widow, her two young boys, and her effort to revive her life with an out of date "wool" shop (Brit for Yarn Shop). Some of the characters do not like her efforts to make any changes to the shop, but she just continues to do so in her own way, and the shop comes back to life, as does she, along the way.Throw in a movie star, a few eccentrics, her gran, and oh, maybe a man or two, plus lots of yummy yarn, and you have a fun read.Worth the price of the paperback-Diva's Don't Knit. I'd save my money on the hardback with the upgraded name, however!!
