I enjoy the writing style in this book, and the inspiration to explore knitting beyond the pattern (I'm still a beginner). At first, I was annoyed to encounter instructions with terms that I didn't know and were not in my beginner books. As I searched for those terms, I found lots of other information on knitting, and now I see the advanced terms as opening doors in my understanding of knitting.I suspect that the people who have criticized this book simply had personalities that didn't match this particular book. This book is cat-approved. Both the cub-ball and half-size spiral were immediately commandeered by my cats.
